After the hare was unearthed by sculduggery it didn’t end well for anybody. Some were even driven to madness by the hunt. But where is the golden hare now?
Postal Pranks and Mischief
A Victorian prankster called Reginald Bray might have been an accountant by day but by night, over his lifetime, he sent 30,000 singular objects through the newly formed Royal Mail, including a cigarette, turnips, a bowler hat, his dog and himself. Bray even tested the wit of the humble postie by sending postcards with backward handwriting and cryptic clues for uncovering the recipient’s address. This talk celebrates Bray’s life and antics, how he inspired David to follow in his footsteps for a year and other individuals who have used the royal mail as a unique means of transportation!
