This July is our 19th anniversary! When I was a young man of just twenty-one, I never dreamed that an idea for a club night – one that I wanted to go to but didn’t exist so I knew I’d have to set it up myself – would run for so long. Over the years we’ve had 1000+ speakers from all walks of life, countless specials and the spin-off Wellsbourne Society events focussing on Brighton’s subcultures and alternative histories.
Over the years the Catalyst format spread to Worthing (Speakeasy), St Leonard’s and Eastbourne (Bavard Bar) and now Catalyst Clubs run in Shoreham and Lewes too. New York is in our sights.

So come and join is for a special night. There’ll be a few surprises, a balloon, prizes, and talks from Patti Webb, entomologist Bridget Nicholls and Vera Zakharov.

It’s also the last year that we will be at the Latest Music Bar before finding a new home in 2024.
