While Zoom has denied us the unparalleled pleasures of being together in a real space – clutching a pint and listening in wonder to a talk on the history of croutons – it has allowed our community to continue and for speakers from further afield to join us. Without it we wouldn’t have enjoyed the delights of Merlin Sheldrake in a snowbound Canadian city talking about the wonders of mycology.
This July will be our 17th anniversary with a few surprises as always. Feel free to share any Catalyst Club memories over the years. The best ones may win a prize or two.
It will also be the last Zoom Catalyst over summer with a view to returning live in September as well also finding a way to continue online, as I know many of you have asked for this to happen.
In the meantime, we have three Catalyst Club newbies joining us next month: Mark Newbrook, artist Serena Sussex and founder/director of Brighton Rocks Film Festival James Rowlins.
Dress code: party like its 2004.
