For our September event Jenna Matthews discussed the lives and achievements of thirteen female astronauts, Angi Mariani gave us all waking nightmares through her research into Fatal Familial Insomnia ( where sufferers lose the ability to sleep) and Chris Parkinson lifted the mood with a talk on the golden age of detective fiction from Conan Doyle to Dorothy Sayers. He also shared detective fiction’s ten commandments which include: ‘the sleuth’s sidekick must always be slightly less intelligent than the reader’, ‘the policeman is never allowed to be the murderer’ and ‘identical twins are not allowed to show up at the end unannounced’.
For October we welcome the return of comedian Barry Ferns, Sussex folklorist Chris Hare and a very special third guest!
