In March Laurine Waille described the challenges ascending Mont Blanc with her brother (as a bonding exercise), Ted Barrow taught us how to circuit bend (ie hack) old electronic toys to create unique – if temperamental – musical instruments, and Lynne Murphy explored our relationship with the words ‘please’, ‘thank-you’ and ‘sorry’. Sorry to report that us Brits say ‘sorry’ far more than is necessary while the Yanks are less likely to give to charity if the request includes the word please.

We return this month with our youngest ever speaker (at the tender age of 16), newcomer Stephen Laycock and Dr Rory Clark.
